Klevgrand Pana, The Natural Panner - Tutorial and Demo

Image
Klevgrand Pana, The Natural Panner - Tutorial and Demo https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/pana-natural-panner/id1596751927 Pana is the latest panner released by Klevgrand; it is a natural panner and utilises delays and filter techniques to generate the panning effect. Panning can be achieved acting on volume for the different left and right channels or also applying a delay to the sound going to the channels (this method is know as the Haas effect). A more sophisticated way is also to apply a low pass filter to a channel and this is what Pana also does. The interface of Pana is quite simple and it covers the following controls: - size, to adjust micro delays to emulate the size in a person’s head - roll off, to set the steepness and frequency of the opposite channel’s filter - pan knob, this acts as a macro control for the size and roll off dials and it allows you to pan fro one channel to the other. When this is set to max it will use the values set by the size and roll off dials - c...

Cem Olcay has just released a new fantastic app called MelodyBud, a new Midi Generative sequencer. It is a generative sequencer which means you rely on randomisation settings to generate a new melody. As you can see from the app you can run it as an AUv3 instance or also in standalone mode. In this tutorial I am running it inside AUM, my favourite Audio Mixer. MelodyBud allows you to select a default scale and key so that you can target the melody creation to your taste and needs. This is what the tutorial demonstrate: - Selection of key and scale - Creation of melody by step selection - Creation of melody using the random function - Settings for changing the number of steps used - The ability to randomise all steps or a particular step for your melody - How to change settings for Octave, Velocity, Glide, Ratchet and Gate - Creation of different patterns and how to switch between them or using your favourite Midi CC# message - Change of rates for different playing speed for differ...

n-Track Studio 9 Pro (Audio/Midi DAW) - Tutorial: Exploring the App Part 4, Song creation and Wizard

Image
If you are looking for a short tutorial that show you how you can go about creating a song, at least on way to go about it, then this is the right one. The tutorial is based on the song wizard that has been recently added into n-Track Pro to help users getting started. So are you going to find in this tutorial: - Creation of a midi track directly from a midi loop. This is a nice way to show how easy it is for you to import midi files and use them in n-Track Pro - Addition of chorus effects to a midi track. Again this is nice as you can quickly see how you can add a chorus effect to an instrument that is playing a midi track - creation of a drum track using the step sequencer. It is so easy to create beats using a step sequencer, something you find in more expensive (not alway) hardware keyboards - creation of a bass track using an internal bass sounds, from the great internal library of sounds - addition of a bass simulator amps to the bass track. You can choose from lots of templates ...

With the ability to import your own sounds you will not get bored!

Tonality, Learn Music Theory and More - Tutorial: Exploring the App Part 3, Scales

Image
In this episode of learning Tonality we are exploring scales, their composition, their relatives and much more. As always in Tonality you can search for scales, you can create a custom one, you can represent them on a piano keyboard on inside a guitar fretboard. Once you have found the scale you are looking for, you can check how it should be played using piano fingers, or you can check what chords can be created using that scale or even look for modes using even parallel or relative sections. Scales are important in music theory and also in music composition; for example you could decide on a scale and then use only notes from that scale to create your melody or a chord progression. The other thing you can do is also change a melody using a different scales and check how the melody, the feeling changes.

KV331 Audio SynthMaster 2 - Tutorial Part 7: Sequencers for modulation

Image
Welcome to another episode on how to learn SynthMaster 2 by KV331 Audio. In this episode we are going to explore how you can modulate using sequencers. The internal Sequencers in SynthMaster 2 are not Midi sequencer but they are step sequencers up to 4 (or 6 for compatibility reasons). Each sequencer can be assigned as a modulator to one or more parameter inside the synth. Each sequencer has a number of steps that can be defined and even a loop can be set for a specific number of steps. You can change speed of playing the steps and you can synchronise the speed to the BPM of the host and use 2 different multipliers to further adjust it. You can change the intensity of modulation for each step, the lag, the noise and you can even apply an overall envelope to the sequence of steps so that you can set attack, release and final outcome of the modulation. There is a zoomed view where you can further make adjustments to the wave shape of each individual steps and change the way you inte...

Moog Music Animoog Z - Tutorial Part 2: layout, presets, scale and keyboard settings

Image
For the 10 years anniversary Moog Music has released an updated version of Animoog. Animoog Z is based on the same ASE engine augmented with great visuals of comets following paths that can be automated live. At the heart of the synth you have this x-y 8 timbres system for which each timbre can have up to 16 waveforms. It is really a multi dimensional approach to wavetable and vector synthesis. The additional Z dimension make it much more interesting. The sound is very good as it was for Animoog and this edition can also be used as an AUv3 synth or as an AUv3 insert effects inside your DAW or favourite mixer like Cubasis and AUM. In this first episode we go through: - how to select presets - how to quickly move around the wave cube on the screen - how to change quickly settings for the modulation wheel - how to change settings for the scale including - how to move from mono to 4 or 16 voices - how to apply pitch correction and glides - how to change key spacing - how to re-set the enve...
